My Story

Teaching Business Skills Through Story

Case Resor is a writer, entrepreneur, and the creator of the Self-Starter Series. He grew up between Wyoming and Oregon, splitting time between parents who were both educators and business owners. That early exposure to both teaching and entrepreneurship sparked a lasting interest in how people learn—and how real-world skills can be taught through experience.

After studying Economics at the University of Denver, Case launched Double Black Transportation, a regional transportation company. What started as a small idea quickly turned into a growing business that required sales, marketing, hiring, and creative problem-solving—all the same things he now helps students explore through his books.

With the Self-Starter Series, Case combines story-driven writing with project-based learning, giving teachers flexible tools to teach entrepreneurship in a way that’s fun, relatable, and built for the classroom.
